Services for other Family Professionals

A Certified Financial Divorce Specialist can work with other professional experts to support clients through financial disclosure, explain their financial options, and guide them to a resolution.

Assisting Lawyers With Financial Tasks

Lawyers often have large case loads, but still wish to show their clients care and attention. By referring clients to a financial expert who can assist and educate them about finances, lawyers will feel less overwhelmed and more prepared to make fundamental decisions for their clients' futures. By using a financial divorce professional, lawyers can spend fewer resources on helping clients understand the financial implications of their situation, and devote more time to the legal issues. Clients will value the referral, and feel supported and valued by their lawyer.

Participation as a Financial Mediator in the Mediation Process

With over 70 hours of mediation training, I assist family mediators of all backgrounds with the financial part of the Memorandum of Agreement. As a mediator, aim for a peaceful and fair approach for everyone involved. Still, your client needs to make sound financial decisions to avoid any future pitfalls and future legal fees. As a financial mediator, I will guide you and your clients through this part of the process, leaving all other matters to your expertise.

Participation as a Financial Neutral in the Collaborative Family Law Process

A couple may choose a collaborative approach to arrive at a separation agreement. Both spouses would hire each a lawyer, and potentially sign a Participation Agreement outlining the collaborative process.

As part of the process, the couple may require other collaborative professionals such as a divorce coach, child specialist, and financial neutral. This team approach is successful if everyone involved is trained to work collaboratively, and adheres to the standards and ethics as outlined by the IACP for this process.

I am a member of the IACP (International Academy of Collaborative Professionals), SPA (Separation Professionals Alliance), CPC (Collaborative Professionals Canada), and belong to the Victoria, Vancouver and Nanaimo Collaborative Family Law Groups. I am experienced and qualified to participate in the collaborative family law process.
