7 Steps to Separation
1. Getting Started
After information-gathering phone calls, we start with the separation mediation process. Forms will be sent to you to complete that include the terms of our service, consent to share information and an intake questionnaire.
2. Retainer
We request a retainer of $750 from each party which is applied to your final invoice.
3. Pre-Mediation Meetings with Lori
Lori will schedule individual meetings with you to gain an in-depth understanding of your situation in regard to your Parenting Plan. She will help you define the issues, provide you with relevant information and present potential outcomes.
4. Financial Meetings with Bettina
Bettina will work with each of you on the financial aspects of your separation. She assists you to take a short and long term look at your financial goals and provides fair and objective options on how to move toward them in your financial separation.
5. Joint Mediation Session
A joint session or two are then scheduled (in person or online) where we will work through your Parenting Plan and Division of Finances.
6. Documentation of Your Agreements
We will create a detailed document of agreements you have come to, which you will have the opportunity to review and suggest changes. When complete, you will receive a final copy.
7. Follow Up Session
Within 6 to 12 months, we will offer you a one-hour joint follow-up session to see how things are going and determine if your agreement needs any adjustments. It is helpful to review your agreements before you file your divorce paperwork.

7 Steps to Separation is an all-inclusive package. The cost is $1750 + GST per person. This flat fee gives you the peace of mind of knowing exactly how much your final invoice will be.
